We loved traveling over to Dillard, GA to capture Laura Ashley and Mark’s Wedding at Rabun Manor. It was a perfect day with family and friends, especially Willow the cat!
Their Story:
Mark and Laura Ashley’s brother graduated from their high school five years before Laura Ashley, but they never really met until Mark and her brother got in to medical school together. She had a huge crush on Mark, so when her brother was getting married, she made sure that Mark was a groomsman, and that he was paired with her. That means they have already walked down the aisle together about 14 years ago! Laura Ashley and Mark have been off and on since then, and they finally got serious a few years ago.
The Proposal:
Laura Ashley and Mark do not have the most romantic story, but the saying “that is so us” fits out their proposal story perfect. Mark had the engagement ring for several months before he proposed, and although they had been on lots of trips together and had been out lots of times all dressed up, he waited until 2am after New Years Eve to propose while Laura Ashley was in frumpy pajamas and putting an oil treatment in her hair. He asked her if she loved him, and she joked and said, “No!” He said, “Let’s try that again. Do you love me?”, so she said, “Of course!” He got down on his knee and mumbled, “Will you marry me?” Before she could answer he said “here” and started shoving the ring on her finger. It was great!
