The Wedding Story of Kayleigh & Dan wrapped up at the gorgeous Green Valley Country Club in Greenville SC. It was such a joy to be their Wedding Photographers.
Kayleigh and Dan hold a really special place in our heart. Their wedding celebration could not have been more of the perfect end to one story, and the beginning of another.
The Green Valley Country Club was their choice, both for its beauty and the fact the Dan loves him some golf! So of course we have to incorporate golf into the formal photography as well as the ring photos.
Katie & Dan have such a fantastic story:
We met in college in Long Island. We were both in the same major. The fall semester of our senior year we were both asked to be teachers assistants for the same professor. We signed up to grade labs together one week, and we hit it off immediately. We became close friends and began hanging out outside of class frequently. By winter time, we both realized there was more than just friendship between us. Though Kayleigh had already accepted a job in SC and would be moving in June, Dan asked her to be his girlfriend the day before Valentines Day. After 7 long months 12 hours apart after graduation, Dan found his job down in SC and we have been here ever since.
Dan proposed in Colorado, at a ski resort Kayleigh had gone to many times in her life from having spent a few years in Colorado growing up. Before going, Dan took Kayleigh's parents out to lunch one day and asked for their blessing for their marriage, which they happily gave. Kayleigh's Dad and brother were also going on the ski trip with them, as it was a family tradition. The first day of skiing, right before breaking for lunch, Dan suggested taking a group picture at the top of the mountain to remember their trip. They took a picture of the whole group together, and then Dan handed off his phone to Kayleigh's dad to take one of the 2 of them. Then he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife.
That journey brought them to the wedding day, and the team of vendors that surrounded them was outstanding!
I spent the early part of the afternoon with the girls, photographing both touching moments, as well as funny moments (don't ask about the rubber chicken). Kayleigh & Dan's mom came to help with her finishing touches. I don't think their were two more proud women in the world.
Stephen was doing what he does best, and bonding, joking and capturing some really great and unique photo's of Dan and his guys.
Hurricane Matthew left us a love song through 25 mph sustained winds, but we have to give everyone credit, they embraced it and it made for some great moments during the day. (and heck, it helps a lot with flowing veil photos.
The Party Machine was the host DJ, and between a fun rendition of "Hey Baby" to the whole room singing "Let's do the Time Warp again" there was not a dull moment!
Before we left them for the night, we snuck out to take a few nigh shots with them next to Dan's beloved Mustang.
We hope they are having a blast in Hawaii!
Thank you to these incredible vendors!
